PEAK SL, Speed at the highest level

Goodyear's new Peak SL is the lighter, more speed-oriented mountain bike outer tyre than its slightly bigger brother, the Peak. A new XC Race design with densely packed low profile reduces rolling resistance. The 120TPI carcass, XC Race compound and improved sidewall protection provide best-in-class sidewall protection.

Experience in the World Series

Mountain bike rider Sophie von Berswordt-Wallrabe of Team Watersley R+D Offroad Team tested the brand new tyre during her World Series race in Nove Mesto in the Czech Republic.

"The tyres are a lot lighter than the Peak and have noticeably less rolling resistance. Because of the side studs, you still have good grip in corners. For races at this level, you try to optimise everything without compromising too much on comfort. I think these tyres do exactly that - grip where you need it and otherwise especially less rolling resistance and lighter, which is very welcome on the tricky climbs."

"This is one of my favourite courses, the perfect combination of roots, rock gardens and flow trails. You will definitely be rewarded if you can steer well, as you can gain considerable speed on this lap. A combination of wide rims (30mm inner width) and 2.4 tyres allows you to ride with low pressure (1.1-1.2 bar for me) which ensures grip and low rolling resistance."
